Managing Insecurity in the Workplace
I absolutely enjoy each and every video that you have posted! Finally an individual who thinks with integrity, sincerity and honesty who is willing to teach others that it is truly our responsibility to move forward within the workforce with individualism and self respect!!!!! I thank you a million times from the bottom of my heart because “Professionalism is truly not dead”! God Bless you!
That last point she made was priceless. All my jobs, I have had women f--k with me. And I feel as if I am cursed.
You sound very well-spoken. Like what I aspire to be.
My lead gets upset with me and my coworker yet yells all night long how he needs our help. But is BFF with other co workers from other departments
Main reason why I quit without notice. I was smallest employee in warehouse both physically and weight wise and was harassed all day long for it
Love this advice.
❤️❤️
Same here and dont have fear but unfortunately in many homes, especially African-Americans we get limited beliefs because of past history or just because are examples (even when good) only have been exposed to only so much of what is possible.
I was top sales in my last 2 jobs and was bullied out of both. One was a unionized environment and they did nothing to help me. I got another job that is not directly in sales, but of course my performance is still measured. Because I am close to retirement age and want this job to supplement my pension, I am coasting. I turned down advancement. I am not going to. threaten the insecure people. If I were younger, I obviously would want to be more competitive but at this stage it's in my own best interest to not be a top performer.
Love that!!....
Well done, and thank you for this coaching session, Ginny and John. I appreciated the emphasis on the influences of your upbringing and the summarization of key learnings through storytelling. Ginny, your Career Mapping Workbook has helped me solidify the “throughline” to connect the dots in the story of my career going as far back as high school. As a fellow servant leader and “free agent,” John, I loved what you said about your early learning: “People don’t care what you know until they know that you care about them." i.e., that you are truly working FOR the team. It is great to be in the CLC Community with you. I am cheering you on as you create your next opportunity.
Love it great session JP
Yessssss!
What happens when it's a boss?
Excellent idea and collab. Hilarious.
Black women make the workplace toxic!!! And the men in charge, which is rare down south, are simps. These "queens" can't do nothing wrong
Thank you so much for creating content like this ❤
Media and lawyers can expose the internal toxicity in an organization. Never HR, they just corcle the wagons and initiate their kangroo court. Take grievence outside the organization
Ive never experienced a non toxic work environment
Thank you for this I'm in the same situation far as job hunt, my worth, and the options I have. Thank you y'all
A great watch
You look like nicole scherzinger at a wise age
Great video. Real-time elevation and enlightenment. Go get'em Brother!
Thank you.
I can't help but feel PTSD when corp Erin talks 😭😭😭
Love it. No script. Very authentic. Just two people having balanced communication.
Wonderful interview and conversation. Just what I needed. Thank you both 🙏🏽🫶🏽
Oh my, I am just see people responded 4 days ago. UA-cam only notified me today that your video was posted 30s ago. So it seems I am late.
ha! I went to school with high school with John.
You did?? Which one?
I tried to hold my HR person whos been working for the company over 10 year's for fucking up my bereavement. Me trying to get accountability from HR resulted in my termination. Not only did i lose my dad, i also lost my job and put so much uneeded stress on me and my families life. These HR people are their for the company, not you. And when they fuck up, dont you dare go looking for accountability.
❤
First off, you're a beautiful woman. Second, thank you for this helpful information and I'm ready to make a change within myself because I realize I'm making a mistake first in responding wrong. I am afraid to speak up for myself.
sounds so familiar
Wow wow Ms Clarke is the truth, when it comes to working for large business organisations. She's like the mother/auntie you never had. Blessings unto you Ms Clarke. ❤😊❤😊😊❤😊😊
Usually supervisors and HR are complicit with the worst of them. There’s only one cure to this sort of problem. It’s not in the employee handbook if you catch my drift
Thanks. Currently working in a toxic environment.
I was recently told by a senior manager that I was not a team player because I have healthy boundaries when it comes to working hours. I have those boundaries in place because of burnout and depression from a previous job. Not sure what to say to him about it now.
Thanks so much for this video. You think sometime you are going crazy in my case or it's you. Neither are correct. There are just so many toxic people in the world and many of them don't realize just how toxic they are. I had two incidents with a male co-worker 6'4" tall, I' 4'11" tall. Image we are not even in the same sport. This guy is bullying me. I told our supervisor, (his friend) nothing happened. So I had to go over her head. Stay tuned. I think now the best thing for me is to protect my energy. Other parts or my life are going very well.
No, I have never felt safe in a loooooooooooong time, actually. Not after my trust was shattered when I was scapegoated. The worst possible thing is to have crap management. The worst is when you have a few ‘leaders’ who give contradictory advice, sometimes sabotaging each other. I was like ‘Make your bloody minds and tell me what to do’. But no. It’s not about having soft skills, it’s about the actual work. In the toxic culture of ‘everybody can be a leader’ there is no boss. There is a diffusion of responsibility so that everyone can shirk it and blame somebody else. The fucking democracy! Listen. Democracy works ONLY IF you have a team of competent people willing to co-operate. It’s never the case. The teams are like a headless chicken running around in a semi- permanent panic. No wonder no work gets done if there is confusion, no clear scheme of delegation, no clear procedures, and no accountability! Add to that the office politics, and there you have it. Fucking frustrating waste of time and energy. Sometimes it is personal, most of the time it’s not. And they’re not even malicious. Just fucking stupid. And there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. Urgh 😤😖😭
Excellent advice! Thank you!
👏 yay, I already took this 😊! Hoping to engage with you in the coaching session. 😅
"Shouldering the burden of proof, while having to keep up the work productivity." Great way to describe it. I have a senior developer who is bullying a group of us new hires. Corporate won't do anything because this guy has been here since forever and is a key person in most of the projects. I don't know what to do. My stomach hurts when i have to get up for work.
"I know how to follow up. That's how I got to this position(smile)." Classic!
The demonstration of the literal hovering over people was the best!. But Erin's sympathetic face is next level.
So true!
As a new team member, i found out few months ago that tha I was literally a door mat, my colleague who started couple weeks later was being a door mat as well she had the courage to speak out professionally with the boss of our managers, they retaliated badly against her.I still have my 40 hours and she’s been punished with 10 hours a month. Facts: bad leaders create bad team members, I’m preparing myself to apply for a better position in another location. I know that I’m a great institution, just the wrong department.
You really help me because I was bullied on my job and it was ignored.
Ginny is a national treasure. 💙
I have been stuck in a toxic environment for two years now; they gave me a high level of anxiety and other health problems, I have been applying for a year, and nothing is happening; praying I get out as soon as possible...
i did that.. setting boundaries.. and got in trouble for "not being a team player". pfft.
Same!!
Love this!
